Job Description:

We believe in bold ideas, diverse perspectives, and the drive to transform knowledge into impact. Here, your curiosity fuels progress, your voice shapes innovation, and your ambition helps redefine what’s possible within science and learning. We are a culture that obsesses over impact, challenges, and drives what’s next to power infinite possibilities for our customers, colleagues and society at large.

About the Role:

We have an exciting opportunity for a creative and driven marketing professional to make a real impact in publishing. If you have experience in content, digital or trade marketing — or you're on the retail side with a passion for books and the requisite skills — we'd love to hear from you.

Reporting to the Director, Sales & Marketing within our Trade team, this role will lead Wiley's digital marketing strategy and develop and implement trade marketing campaigns, working closely with the Editorial team, Marketing Manager and local authors to bring books to market with compelling plans and creative assets. You'll also coordinate conferences and events, partner with the sales team to maximise customer engagement, and collaborate with retailers to drive visibility of Wiley titles.

How you will make an impact:

  • Champion local authors. Own the Wiley author relationship from onboarding to launch — shaping marketing strategy, developing creative assets, and activating promotional activities.
  • Bring books to life across every channel. Design creative assets for retail campaigns and consumer advertising to ensure Wiley titles stand out. Develop lead magnets, align author and social media strategies, and localise global marketing materials for the ANZ market.
  • Lead our digital presence. Own Wiley's digital marketing strategy across website, Instagram, Facebook and consumer email database. Develop a content calendar, grow direct-to-consumer audiences, and lead the strategy and execution of paid social campaigns.
  • Build powerful retailer relationships. Develop marketing partnerships with key customers through content marketing, podcasts, giveaways and author profile pages. Build insights through customer visits, sales feedback and competitor research to maximise promotional opportunities.
  • Drive product marketing. Develop deep product knowledge across local and global lines, manage monthly author presentations, and arm sales teams and retailers with everything they need to succeed.
  • Coordinate conferences and events. Manage logistics, materials and coordination for trade conferences, bookstore launches and author signings — attending and representing Wiley where required.
  • Measure what matters. Track campaign effectiveness across digital and retail channels, manage budgets, and deliver performance reports that drive smarter decisions. Analyse paid and organic digital metrics to continuously refine strategy and improve ROI.
  • Stay ahead of the curve. Keep up with publishing trends, competitor activity and social channel developments — sharing insights across teams and proactively identifying opportunities to enhance Wiley's market position.

What we look for:

  • A creative, self-motivated marketer with a proactive approach and genuine passion for books.
  • Demonstrated experience in digital marketing, including organic social media strategy, email marketing and paid social (Meta Ads Manager experience highly regarded).
  • Strong design sensibility across print and digital formats.
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills, including the ability to write compelling ad copy and marketing content.
  • Skilled with marketing tools and technology, with the ability to learn new systems quickly.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, juggling multiple projects with excellent attention to detail.
  • Strong organisational skills to manage timelines, budgets and competing priorities.
  • Ability to foster strong relationships with internal stakeholders, authors, retailers and external agencies.
  • Experience with campaign measurement, digital analytics and data-driven decision-making.

Why should you join Wiley?

  • An open and inclusive workplace. Wiley is committed to a diverse workforce and a work environment where all colleagues are valued and can thrive.
  • Commitment to continuous learning with free access to LinkedIn Learning.
