About the Role:
The Privacy Specialist supports the ongoing execution and continuous improvement of the organization’s global data protection and privacy compliance program. The role focuses on operational privacy activities such as managing data subject rights requests, conducting privacy risk assessments, and maintaining regulatory privacy records. Working under the guidance of the Senior Privacy Manager, the Privacy Specialist collaborates with cross-functional teams to help ensure compliance with global privacy regulations and support privacy-by-design practices across the business.
Key Responsibilities:
Privacy Operations & Compliance
- Support the delivery and continuous improvement of the enterprise-wide privacy compliance program.
- Manage and process data subject rights requests (DSRs) in accordance with regulatory requirements and defined service-level agreements (SLAs).
- Ensure accurate documentation and recordkeeping to support audit readiness and regulatory inquiries.
Risk Assessments & Records Management
- Conduct privacy risk assessments, including Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs) and cross-border data transfer assessments.
- Maintain and update records of processing activities (RoPAs), personal data inventories, and data lineage documentation.
- Support assessments involving sensitive personal data and related mitigation activities.
Program & Project Support
- Contribute to privacy-related operational excellence and compliance projects under management oversight.
- Assist in developing internal privacy communications, guidance materials, and training content.
- Collaborate with Legal, Technology, Security, HR, and business stakeholders to support privacy-by-design initiatives.
Qualifications:
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in data privacy, compliance, risk management, or a related field.
- Working knowledge of global privacy laws and frameworks, including GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, Brazil LGPD, and China PIPL.
- Experience supporting privacy or compliance programs within a complex, matrixed organization.
- Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Professional proficiency in English.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with the NIST Privacy Framework or similar standards.
- Privacy certification such as IAPP CIPM (or actively pursuing certification).
- Experience with privacy management tools, including DSR workflows, RoPA systems, or assessment platforms.
