Job Description:

We believe in bold ideas, diverse perspectives, and the drive to transform knowledge into impact. Here, your curiosity fuels progress, your voice shapes innovation, and your ambition helps redefine what’s possible within science and learning. We are a culture that obsesses over impact, challenges, and drives what’s next to power infinite possibilities for our customers, colleagues and society at large.

About the Role:

The Product Owner, Marketing Data and Analytics translates marketing data strategy into actionable data products and capabilities that enable insight-driven decision-making and measurable marketing performance. Sitting within the Marketing Data and Analytics team, this role reports to the Senior Director, Marketing Data and Analytics and works as the bridge between Marketing, Data Engineering, Analytics, and Technology teams. The Product Owner is responsible for ensuring that the Marketing Data Model, reporting environments, and data pipelines deliver trusted, scalable, and business-ready audience insights that meet strategic objectives. This is an individual contributor role requiring strong technical fluency, stakeholder management capability, and a customer-centric approach to data product ownership.

Job Responsibilities

  • Own and maintain the product roadmap for marketing data and analytics capabilities, aligning a 12–18 month plan with business strategy and prioritising initiatives based on impact, feasibility, and business value.

  • Translate business requirements into clear technical specifications, including detailed user stories, acceptance criteria, and MVP approaches for new data sources, data model enhancements, and reporting capabilities.

  • Serve as the primary liaison between Marketing, Data Engineering, MarTech, and Technology teams — facilitating sprint planning, backlog refinement, and presenting roadmap updates to leadership.

  • Ensure data pipelines, models, and reporting outputs are robust, well-governed, accurate, and aligned to defined KPIs, supporting advanced segmentation and personalisation at scale.

  • Champion data-driven decision-making by empowering marketers and analysts with trusted, accessible, and actionable insights while upholding governance, data quality, and compliance (including GDPR) standards.

  • Proactively identify and resolve data quality risks, performance bottlenecks, and optimisation opportunities, while continuously improving documentation and cross-team communication processes.

Required Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Digital Marketing, Computer Science, Data Analytics, or a related field

Experience

  • 5+ years of product management experience in MarTech or digital marketing platforms

  • Proven experience in data product ownership, data management, or analytics product development

  • Demonstrated experience coordinating between marketing and technology teams

  • Familiarity with data architectures, data warehouses, and data transformation tools including SQL and modern data platforms (e.g. BigQuery, Airflow, GitHub)

Technical Skills

  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency with product management tools: Jira and Confluence

  • Working knowledge of ETL processes and associated technologies

  • Familiarity with BI and data platforms such as Power BI and BigQuery

  • Sufficient technical depth to assess feasibility and challenge proposed solutions

Soft Skills

  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to bridge technical and non-technical audiences

  • Strong project management skills with the ability to coordinate multiple teams and manage competing priorities

  • Experience in requirements gathering, user story writing, and defining acceptance criteria

  • Proficiency with Agile/Scrum methodologies

  • Comfortable working with ambiguity and rapid technology change

  • Outcome-oriented and data-driven mindset

  • Strong facilitation and conflict resolution skills

  • Ability to work across time zones

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree or Product Management certifications

  • 2+ years of experience in a marketing or academic/scientific publishing environment

  • Understanding of API concepts and data flows

  • Basic data analysis skills (e.g. querying, data validation)
