The opportunity
Affinity Group Coordinator – Neurodiversity and Disability Group
Southern New Hampshire University is committed to enriching student life by providing engagement and leadership opportunities that empower our students to develop a vibrant and diverse campus culture. With the goal of creating an environment that promotes cultural awareness, inclusivity, disability awareness, and growth the Campus Accessibility Center, in collaboration with the Office of Diversity Programs, is seeking to hire an Affinity Group Coordinator for Neurodiversity and Disability Group, an affinity group aimed at supporting students that identify as being neurodiverse and/or having a disability. Affinity Group Facilitators plan, organize and facilitate weekly meetings which provide opportunities for participants/students to learn about themselves, actively engage with others, and celebrate specific shared identities. The successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment to the departmental mission and values, alongside sensitivity and caring for students from diverse backgrounds, experiences, and identities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Plan and facilitate weekly affinity group sessions (10-13 meetings per semester) including the gathering of necessary materials.
- Support multiple identities, values, and perspectives while maintaining a civil and respectful environment.
- Serve as a resource, connecting students with other services at SNHU and beyond.
- Develop and execute a communication plan to promote the group and sustain membership. This will be done through tabling, creating print and digital marketing materials, etc.
- Participate in planning the annual affinity group celebration.
- Complete various administrative tasks including participant roster, budget requests/receipt submission, survey data and end of semester report.
- Maintain affinity group budget including supply requests and receipts.
- Submit a report at the end of each semester outlining topics covered, sample communications sent, participant survey results, recruitment efforts, and reflection on your development as a facilitator.
- Participate in initial trainings and ongoing meetings (team meetings monthly, logistics meeting bimonthly, supervision meetings biweekly) as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the leadership team.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Enrollment in an Undergraduate or Graduate Day program at SNHU
- Working knowledge of concepts related to diversity, equity and inclusion
- Desire to work collaboratively with others including good communication skills
- Ability to maintain privacy
- Prior leadership experience preferred
- Basic computer skills
- Positive standing with Community Standards and Academics
Helpful but not required:
- Ability to become an SNHU approved driver (Valid driver’s license and good driving record)

Compensation
The hourly pay range for this position is $12.00 - $15.00. Actual offer will be based on skills, qualifications, experience and internal equity, in addition to relevant business considerations.
