The opportunity
Southern New Hampshire is seeking a student employee to fill the role of Marketing and Communications Assistant for our partner organization Easterseals NH in Manchester, NH. The Marketing & Communications Assistant supports Easterseals NH & VT’s efforts to share its mission, programs, and impact with the community. This work-study position provides hands-on experience in nonprofit marketing communications. The student will help preserve the organization’s history and visibility through archiving media coverage, cataloging photography, organizing awards and recognitions, and assisting with occasional writing assignments that highlight the organization’s work.
Job Responsibilities:
- Create and maintain a physical and digital archive of print and online news coverage, including clipping, labeling, and indexing materials for easy access.
- Organize and label photography files and marketing collateral for long-term use.
- Collect, document, and organize awards and recognitions earned by the organization and senior leadership over the past decade.
- Support the cataloging of historic materials, event photos, and promotional items.
- Draft or edit short written pieces such as social media posts, deep captions, and event recaps.
- Assist with on-site photography for events, staff activities, and programs.
- Provide general support for marketing and communications initiatives as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Current enrollment in classes as part of a SNHU degree program
- Work study part of financial aid package
- Students with work study may be prioritized
- Reliable transportation
- Interest in marketing, communications, journalism, or public relations.
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and record-keeping.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with digital organization tools (Google Drive, Canva, or Adobe Creative Suite a plus).
- Dependable, professional, and enthusiastic about the organization’s mission.
Learning Outcomes:
- Practical experience in nonprofit marketing, media relations, and content management.
- Skills in archiving, record preservation, and digital asset organization.
- A professional portfolio of writing samples and photography contributions.
- A deeper understanding of how communications enhance a nonprofit’s visibility, storytelling, and community engagement.
Work Schedule: 10 hours a week, flexible between the hours of 9am to 5 pm

Compensation
The hourly pay range for this position is $12.00 - $15.00. Actual offer will be based on skills, qualifications, experience and internal equity, in addition to relevant business considerations.
