Job Description

The Opportunity

The Transformation Regional Director of Data-Driven Leadership will play a critical role in one of KIPP Texas’ most progressive reform efforts in order to drive improved student results, including growth and achievement, in the KIPP Texas transformation region. The Transformation Regional Director of Data-Driven Leadership will have a chance to drive accountability aligned strategy and will be responsible for providing ongoing data analysis and data-driven coaching to keep a constant pulse on academic achievement, progress towards goals, and is responsible for supporting schools in meeting STAAR goals with a focus on math and reading language arts.

This position sits on the KIPP Texas Academics Team within the Academic Strategy, DDI & Assessment Team. This position will support the transformation region within KIPP Texas.

Key Responsibilities

  • Data-driven leadership and coaching: Lead a culture that recognizes the use of data as a tool for continuous improvement and decision-making. This role includes coaching regional leaders, school leaders, and other stakeholders on how to analyze data, identify gaps and challenges, and effectively present data reports to their staff. The goal is to engage teachers, families, and other leaders, ensuring that the school meets its academic outcome goals.

  • Accountability aligned strategy: Provide guidance and co-create strategies for the transformation region, grounded in accountability and designed to increase student growth and achievement. The strategy will include annual goals and major milestones, providing enough detail so that each group within the school knows specifically what actions to take to drive improved student outcomes.

  • Academic insights: Responsible for conducting ongoing data analysis and creating custom data visualizations and reports to identify strengths and opportunities. Make bold recommendations based on data and provide insights to KIPP Texas leaders on a recurring basis (e.g., weekly). Data sources will be both quantitative and qualitative, encompassing inputs, outputs, and outcomes at student, teacher, and leader levels.

  • Progress monitor top metrics: Create and inform the creation of systems and structures to progress monitor metrics to ensure KIPP Texas is on track to meet and exceed academic goals.

Qualifications

Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree is required.

  • Has a minimum of 2 years of classroom teaching experience with proven results

  • Experience in successful school turn around efforts

  • Understanding of the Texas A-F school accountability system

  • Experience in public education or non-profit a strong plus

  • Experience in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial and fast-growing organization a strong plus

  • Must have demonstrated experience in successful, multi-year project management to deliver results

  • Must have demonstrated experience using Microsoft Excel, Tableau, or other visualization software to create advanced academic analysis, data reports, visualizations, and presentations.

Work Environment

  • Hybrid work - in office/at schools a minimum of 3 days a week.
  • Typical office environment with frequent interruptions.

Travel Requirements

  • Ability to travel to various locations, travel time approximately 25%.

Salary is based on years of experience, degree of education, and level of expertise.
