Head of Legal – LeadSquared (Bengaluru)

About The Role

We are looking for an experienced legal leader to head our Legal & Compliance function, driving contracts, compliance,

and AI-led process transformation. This role will work closely with CXOs and business unit heads, managing high-value,

complex deals while ensuring strong governance frameworks across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

Legal Strategy & Business Partnering

• Partner with CXOs and BU heads to drive legal strategy aligned with business goals
• Provide proactive legal guidance on large, complex enterprise deals, especially in global (US) markets
  
  

Contracts & Negotiation

• Lead end-to-end contract management including drafting, reviewing, and negotiating customer and vendor agreements
• Handle high-value, complex deal negotiations with a focus on faster turnaround and business impact
• Drive standardization and automation in contract lifecycle management
  
  

Compliance & Data Protection

• Ensure compliance with data protection laws, IT regulations, and evolving AI usage policies
• Oversee compliance frameworks, including coordination with external vendors for audits and governance
• Establish strong policies around AI adoption and legal risk mitigation
  
  

AI & Process Transformation (0–6 months focus)

• Drive adoption of AI to simplify legal workflows, improve response time, and automate repetitive processes
• Work closely with stakeholders to identify bottlenecks in legal turnaround for enterprise deals and implement

Litigation & Dispute Management

• Oversee dispute resolution strategy (largely outsourced), ensuring effective vendor management
• Provide legal oversight on critical matters and commercial risks
  
  

Team Management

• Lead and mentor a team of ~5 legal professionals
• Drive a high-performance, process-driven culture within the legal function
  
  

What We’re Looking For

• LLB is mandatory (LLM is a plus)
• 10+ years of experience in legal roles, preferably in SaaS/technology organizations
• Strong experience in contract negotiations, especially with enterprise customers
• Good understanding of data protection, compliance, and AI-related legal frameworks
• Exposure to US markets is a strong plus
• Proven experience in team management and stakeholder handling
• Ability to operate in a fast-paced, high-growth environment with quick turnaround expectations
