About the role
As a Sales Manager at Learning Pool you will be responsible for driving the sales performance of a team of UK based Account Executives who sell globally. Your team will be made up of both experienced sales professionals and those who are new to the role. We expect you to take a long term view to developing your team, while also delivering on quarterly and annual targets.

Location: Location: Flexible within the UK, with a preference for candidates within travelling distance to a Learning Pool UK office (Derry, Belfast, Nottingham, Oxford).
What you will be doing
Roles and Responsibilities will include:
- Continually driving new business sales performance through process, team development and sales strategy.
- Ensuring a healthy pipeline of new business is maintained through structured Account Executive activity, coaching and customer engagement.
- Assisting Account Executives in developing winning sales strategies, tailored customer solutions and ongoing territory management.
- Supporting your team with complex negotiations and the closing of new business opportunities.
- Taking personal ownership of your team’s sales targets and driving the growth strategy for the Learning Solutions tech stack.
- Routinely assess your team’s sales performance and activities to determine progress and required improvements.
- Developing and maintaining a rigorous new business sales forecast with a bias for accuracy and attainment.
- Promoting collaboration with internal business partners including Solutions Engineering, Customer Success, Professional Services and Senior Leadership.
- Ensuring the Account Executives leverage technology and sales techniques that drive results.
- Ensuring adherence to data hygiene requirements in Salesforce and routinely inspecting for proper opportunity management.
- Hiring and developing talent to maintain a team who are committed to continuous improvement and perform to the highest levels
- Support a culture of continuous improvement within the established vision and values of the company and contribute to a “lean startup” style environment of constant experimentation and learning
Who we are looking for:
The successful candidate will demonstrate:
- A proven track record: You will have extensive experience of new business sales management in SaaS sales organisations supporting B2B sales with a recurring revenue model.
- People Management: You will have extensive experience managing revenue focused teams through sales cycles, throughout commercial and enterprise level businesses, while optimising productive capacity.
- Technical competence: You will have in-depth experience with sales related technology and tools including CRM management and SaaS metric reporting.
- Service orientation: You will be comfortable supporting your team with a hands-on approach to our largest, most important sales opportunities. This will include experience cultivating and maintaining senior executive relationships.
- Data-driven: You will be comfortable in making data based decisions, setting goals, and driving success in the organization, while also embracing ‘hands on’ sales and qualitative metrics of success.
- Adaptability: You will be comfortable in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment with independence and excellence while managing simultaneous projects
- Leadership: You will be an empathetic leader with the ability to affect change and lead the team in an environment where pace and dealing with ambiguity is important and delivering successful change management is essential.
- Delivering with others: You will demonstrate excellence in building productive and close internal relationships, especially with other teams central to our mission such as Marketing, Customer Sales, Solutions Engineering, and Revenue Operations.
- Critical thinking: You will be skilled in dealing with complex customers to find solutions which support your team, satisfy the customer and grow the business.
- Commercial acumen: With an understanding of the compliance/learning technology markets, you will have the ability to forecast with pinpoint accuracy, tracking progress and creating a culture of forecasting accuracy within your team.
Although not essential, it would be advantageous to have the following experience:
- Sales leadership gained with the learning technologies space
- Demonstrable comprehension of how modern learning and upskilling the modern workforce mpacts on business results
- Experienced at leveraging MEDDPICC methodologies to help drive consistency in your team’s performance.
