HR & Recruiting Lead

We’re looking for a HR & Recruiting Lead to build and scale the people operations at Leland. In this role, you’ll oversee the recruitment process from end to end, ensuring we attract top talent across all departments. Additionally, you will shape our company culture, lead key HR initiatives, and help create an environment where our team can thrive and grow. You’ll be instrumental in supporting Leland’s rapid growth by building a strong, high-performing team and fostering an inclusive and positive workplace.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Lead recruitment strategy & execution: Develop and implement a recruitment strategy to attract top talent across various functions at Leland. You’ll manage the full recruitment process, from job posting and sourcing to interviewing and onboarding.

  • Build and manage talent pipelines: Proactively source candidates for both current and future roles, ensuring we have a strong pipeline of potential hires for key positions as Leland scales.

  • Oversee onboarding and employee engagement: Create and manage an engaging onboarding process that sets new hires up for success. You’ll also focus on employee engagement initiatives that foster a positive work environment and encourage retention.

  • Develop HR policies and procedures: Design and implement HR policies that ensure compliance, fairness, and support for our growing team. You’ll be responsible for areas like employee benefits, performance management, and conflict resolution.

  • Implement company culture: Work with leadership to define and promote Leland’s culture, ensuring it aligns with our values and supports the growth and well-being of our team.

  • Support employee development: Work with department leads to implement learning and development programs that help employees grow in their roles and advance their careers.

  • Manage employee relations: Act as the point of contact for any employee-related issues, providing guidance and support to both employees and management to resolve conflicts and maintain a positive working environment.

Your skills & experience:

  • 5-8+ years of experience in HR, recruiting, or people operations, ideally in a fast-paced, startup environment.

  • Proven track record of successfully recruiting and hiring across multiple departments.

  • Expertise in building and scaling recruitment processes, with experience in sourcing, interviewing, and onboarding.

  • Strong knowledge of HR policies, procedures, and compliance requirements.

  • Ability to foster a positive company culture and lead initiatives that support employee engagement and retention.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships across all levels of the organization.

  • A hands-on, “scrappy” mindset—you're not afraid to take on any task, but you can also drive high-level HR strategy and growth.
