The Litmos Engineering team is looking for a Cloud Operations Manager to build and lead our Cloud Operations Team. This role involves setting the technical direction and managing the day-to-day execution of a team of highly skilled Cloud Operations Engineers. This role is responsible for increasing our usage of Infrastructure as Code, adoption of modern cloud practices, cost optimization in our environments, and monitoring the overall health of our systems.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Management of the Cloud Operations Engineers including regular one-on-one meetings, performance reviews, and hiring.
  • Monitoring of our key systems including resource utilization, application performance, log aggregation, etc.
  • Iterative improvements of our processes, procedures, and run books.
  • Reporting on KPIs such as system availability and performance.
  • Work directly with engineering teams to make software improvements that benefit operational aspects of our systems.
  • Ensure high standards for the delivery of secure and highly available systems.
  • Own the production incident response process.
  • Maintain accurate budgeting for area of responsibility (e.g., hosting costs across cloud service providers).

Education & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field.
  • 5-10+ years of operations experience using Microsoft, Linux, and Cloud technologies.
  • At least 2 years experience managing a Cloud Operations Team.
  • Ownership mentality.
  • Strong experience with Azure and AWS; GCP is a plus.
  • Experience with using Infrastructure as Code to manage a large, cloud based infrastructure
  • Experience with containers, Kubernetes, and associated orchestration technologies a plus.
  • Strong presentation, documentation/technical writing skill a plus.
  • Experience with observability tools like Azure App Insights, New Relic, DataDog, etc.
