Macmillan Learning. Inspiring what’s possible for every learner. Come and join our established successful team!
Macmillan Learning is a leading international learning company, combining world-class content with innovative digital learning solutions to inspire what’s possible for every learner.
Our International Sales and Marketing team (based in central London) is on an ambitious journey to grow global market share across Higher Education and International Schools. We are a close-knit, agile GTM team, working closely across sales and marketing and enjoying working together, celebrating success, and delivering great outcomes for our customers, with a strong sense of shared ownership across our leadership group.
We are now looking for an Associate Director of Product Marketing to lead and evolve our product marketing function.
This is a high-impact, strategic role for a commercially driven and forward-thinking product marketer. You will lead a team of product marketers while owning go-to-market strategy, positioning, and growth for key product areas, including our Advanced Placement portfolio and the Achieve platform.
You will play a central role in defining how our products win in the market, bringing together customer insight, clear product narratives, and data-driven decision-making to drive engagement, pipeline, and revenue.
Working closely with sales, product, and marketing teams globally, you will ensure our products are positioned effectively, meet market needs, and deliver measurable results.
This is a role for someone who thrives in a collaborative environment and enjoys shaping strategy as part of a close, engaged team.
As part of this role you will:
Lead and develop a high-performing product marketing team, setting direction and raising the bar for modern product marketing
Own end-to-end go-to-market strategy for key products, from positioning and messaging through to execution and optimisation
Define clear, compelling product narratives and value propositions that differentiate our offerings in competitive markets
Drive strategic marketing plans that deliver measurable impact across awareness, engagement, pipeline, and revenue
Partner closely with sales teams to enable success, providing tools, insight, and support to improve conversion and win rates
Use data, insight, and experimentation to continuously optimise marketing performance and inform decision-making
Represent the voice of the customer, bringing deep market and user insight into product development and GTM strategy
Collaborate with global product and marketing teams to shape product direction and ensure international market needs are reflected
Stay ahead of industry trends, leveraging modern marketing tools, automation, and AI to enhance effectiveness and scale
Champion a culture of curiosity, innovation, and continuous improvement within the team
You’ll have the opportunity to shape the future of product marketing within Macmillan Learning, influence business strategy, and make a visible commercial impact. This is a role for someone who enjoys both strategic thinking and hands-on delivery, and who thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
Requirements:
Educated to degree level or equivalent
CIM or Product Marketing qualification (desirable)
Proven experience in product marketing within higher education, publishing, edtech, or a related field
Strong track record of owning go-to-market strategy and delivering commercial results
Expertise in positioning, messaging, and bringing products to market successfully
Experience partnering closely with sales teams to drive pipeline and revenue growth
Strong commercial awareness and a data-driven mindset
Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and influencing skills
Experience working with international teams and markets
Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution
Experience managing or mentoring team members
This is a permanent, full-time hybrid role, with 3 days/week in our King’s Cross office. Occasional UK and international travel is required.
Benefits: We will provide you with hybrid working, a competitive salary and fantastic benefits including Private Medical Insurance/Medical cash plan, enhanced employer pension contributions, employee discounts portal, 25 days holiday (increasing with service) plus bank holidays, book discounts, employee assistance programme (help@hand) and much more.
