McGraw Hill is a global education innovation company offering solutions from textbooks to EdTech platforms that improve learning outcomes. To support our growing business in India, we are hiring an Associate Portfolio Manager for our Higher Education business here in Noida.
This role is a one-year contractual position, offering a focused opportunity to contribute to key projects while gaining valuable hands-on experience.
How are you creating an impact?
You will play a pivotal role in engaging with authors, instructors, and students from leading management and engineering institutions. Your responsibilities will include conducting market research, mapping syllabi and competitors, identifying product gaps, recommending content and feature enhancements, managing project profitability, and presenting strong business cases. You will also commission and procure content from new and existing authors and collaborate with internal teams to ensure the successful development of high-quality products.
What will you be doing?
- Author & Instructor Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with authors and instructors to understand their needs, preferences, and expectations for academic products.
- Content Commissioning & Procurement: Identify, engage, and onboard potential and existing authors to source high-quality content. Facilitate discussions, negotiations, and alignment on content requirements.
- Market Research & Competition Mapping: Conduct detailed market studies to assess current and emerging academic products. Evaluate competitor offerings, strengths, weaknesses, and market positioning to inform product strategy.
- Product Gap Analysis & Feature Recommendations: Identify gaps in existing product portfolios based on curriculum requirements and market needs. Collaborate with professors and subject matter experts to recommend features and improvements aligned with academic standards and industry trends.
- Cross-Functional Stakeholder Coordination: Work closely with content development, pre-press, marketing, and sales teams to ensure smooth project execution. Provide clear updates and coordinate efforts to deliver high-quality academic products on time.
We are looking for?
- Graduate or post-graduate degree, preferably in management, economics, or engineering.
- Strong communication, interpersonal skills, and an analytical mindset.
- Ability to work independently, multitask, and meet tight deadlines.
- Proficiency in computers and MS Office tools.
- Experience in product, research, or content roles is a plus; freshers with relevant skills may also be considered.
