🎯 About the Position

At Memorang the graph is not a side feature. It is the foundation of our platform and the most critical system we operate. Our Neo4j knowledge graph fuels intelligent search, adaptive learning paths, and the reasoning layers behind our AI agents.

We are searching for a

Graph Engineer

who lives and breathes graph thinking. You will own the graph end to end: modeling, schema design, query optimization, clustering, ingestion pipelines, and performance at scale. This is a chance to define how millions of learners experience knowledge through a graph that you architect.

You will have the freedom to push the limits of Neo4j, explore new algorithms and graph data science techniques, and set the standards for how the company and product use graph technology. Your expertise will not just guide engineering decisions, it will shape how AI is applied to learning on a global scale.

🧠 What You’ll Do

🛠️ Own Graph Architecture & Performance

Design and evolve graph schemas, indexes, and constraints that power AI-driven features

Optimize complex Cypher queries for speed and scalability across large datasets

Architect, deploy, and maintain Neo4j clusters with high availability, backups, and monitoring

Build ingestion pipelines to integrate structured and unstructured data sources into the graph

Define and enforce best practices for graph modeling, data integrity, and schema evolution

📈 Scale Core Infrastructure for Growth

Ensure graph infrastructure scales to millions of nodes/relationships while maintaining performance

Collaborate with AI and full-stack engineers to enable graph-powered workflows like search, personalization, and agent reasoning

Benchmark and profile graph workloads, proactively resolving bottlenecks

Contribute to strategic decisions around graph-based features, algorithms, and future use cases

🔧 Enable Team & Technical Excellence

Mentor engineers and raise organizational literacy in graph thinking and Neo4j best practices

Create internal documentation, FAQs, and self-serve resources for graph usage patterns

Partner with Product and AI teams to translate user requirements into graph-first solutions

Act as the escalation point for graph-related performance, data, and reliability issues

🏃 How to Hit the Ground Running

You must have:

5+ years of engineering experience with at least 3 years using graph databases in production

Expertise in Cypher query design, profiling, and optimization

Strong background in graph schema design, clustering, and scaling strategies

Solid software engineering foundation (TypeScript/Node.js preferred, but open to others)

Experience with building and maintaining ETL/ingestion pipelines for graph databases

Excellent communication skills—able to explain graph concepts clearly to technical and non-technical teammates

➕ Bonus Points

Experience with knowledge graphs, embeddings, and graph algorithms (Neo4j GDS)

Experience with GraphRAG techniques that combine Neo4j with LangGraph, RAG pipelines, or multi-agent AI infrastructure

Contributions to the Neo4j community, open-source projects, or published graph-related content

Background in EdTech, AI applications, or data-heavy SaaS platforms
