THIS IS A FULL-TIME POSITION BASED IN BANGALORE, INDIA

THE ROLE

At MPOWER, data is central to measuring all aspects of the business, and is critical to its operations and growth. As a Business Data Analyst, you’ll closely work with all the business stakeholders for collection, usage and reporting of key data points. Your focus includes designing, engineering, developing, documenting, and reporting analytic efforts to translate complex data into actionable business recommendations. Your responsibilities will include but not limited to:

• Building interactive dashboards and visualizations on Tableau and/or Google Data Studio platform
• Providing data analysis, reporting, and data support to internal and external stakeholders to drive business process improvements and achieve top-line objectives
• Interpreting business requirements and translating them into analytical objectives
• Performing root cause analysis on business problems while providing recommendations in a timely manner
• Instilling a company wide-culture of data-first decision making and driving continuous data quality best practices

THE QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree in Analytics, Engineering, Statistics, Management Science, Applied Mathematics, or related field, with Master’s degree preferred
• 6+ years of experience in a high-paced, tech-first company, with financial services experience preferred
• Strong working experience in SQL
• Demonstrable experience using data visualization tools such as Tableau or Google Data Studio
• Understanding of how relational databases work, how objects are linked with each other, different types of joins, and how to use them for reporting
• Familiarity using complex nested condition loops (using functions such as If, Where, Case, etc) and using logical operators (such as AND, OR, NOT, etc)
• Strong ability to understand how to use data to support and enhance business processes
• Ability to work with large relational datasets and derive insights from the same
• Prior work experience or coursework on Salesforce CRM is a plus
• Excellent verbal and written communication, presentation and facilitation skills with the ability to express complex concepts in plain language to reach broader audiences

In addition, you should be comfortable working in a fast growth environment, meaning a small agile team, fast-evolving roles and responsibilities, variable workload and tight deadlines, a high degree of autonomy, and 80-20 everything.
