THIS IS A FULL-TIME POSITION BASED IN WASHINGTON D.C., AND REPORTS DIRECTLY TO THE ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR OF CONTENT STRATEGY
THE ROLE
As a Content Manager, your role is to craft and execute clear and comprehensive content as part of MPOWER’s overarching marketing and content strategy. The ideal candidate will be an experienced writer who thinks outside the box when it comes to identifying customers’ needs and recommending new content to address gaps in the company's current materials. You will have experience communicating to a global, diverse audience with engaging and informative content. Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing writers to assist in the overall development of content creation
- Improving the content review/management process for more accurate and timely delivery of content online
- Writing persuasive content for communications and marketing efforts, including newsletters, website copy, boilerplate emails, and blog posts focused on international and DACA students and financial services
- Developing video and multimedia content from start to finish — including drafting a story board, developing a script and managing the project through to completion
- Conducting in-depth research on industry-related topics to contribute to the development of strategies that will increase reader engagement
- Ensuring consistent and compelling brand tone across all customer communications
- Leveraging knowledge of digital marketing — especially ad copy, social media, and SEO — to drive engagement with and increase conversion to MPOWER services
THE QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field
- 5+ years of experience producing B2C marketing content in financial services, consumer finance, or a similar industry
- Experience working in an international context and addressing a diverse global audience with a strong sense of cultural sensitivity is a must
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and familiarity with SEO best practices
- Tech-savvy with the ability to make complex technical matters easy to understand even for a non-technical readership
- Excel at working under pressure and able to produce deliverables on a tight deadline amongst competing demands
A passion for financial inclusion and access to higher education is a must, as well as comfort working with a global team across multiple time zones and locations!
In addition, you should be comfortable working in a fast growth environment, meaning a small agile team, fast-evolving roles and responsibilities, variable workload, tight deadlines, a high degree of autonomy, and 80-20 everything.
