The Role:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Payroll Partner to handle payroll management for our diverse workforce in the EduTech industry. This role includes processing payroll accurately and on time, ensuring compliance with Indian labour laws, managing statutory obligations, and addressing employee concerns. You will play a pivotal role in delivering seamless payroll operations in a fast-paced, technology-driven

The Responsibilities:

  • Oversee end-to-end payroll processing, including variable pay, shift allowances, overtime, and deductions.
  • Validate attendance and leave records using HRIS systems for accurate payroll computation.
  • Maintain employee payroll records, including updates for new hires, exits, and salary revisions.
  • Ensure meeting compliance with applicable Indian labour laws, including Provident Fund (PF), Employee State Insurance (ESI), Professional Tax (PT), and Income Tax (TDS).
  • Support compliance with industry-specific regulations such as SEZ norms, where applicable.
  • Respond to payroll-related employee queries, such as discrepancies, tax clarifications, and statutory deductions.
  • Educate employees on statutory benefits like PF, ESI, and Gratuity, as well as tax-saving options.
  • Generate payroll reports, including salary registers, variance analysis, and compliance dashboards.
  • Reconcile payroll data with accounting and financial systems to ensure accuracy.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance payroll efficiency and accuracy, and provide training to the HR Team and employees on payroll tools and processes as needed.
  • Stay updated with amendments to labour laws and industry-specific regulations affecting payroll processes.

Additional Position Information:

  • Work Location: Nacharam/Hitech City
  • Core Hours: 2 PM(IST) – 11.30 PM(IST)
  • Core Days Worked: Rotational Weekoffs

The Desired Attributes:

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, or a related field.
  • 1–2 years of experience in payroll management or HR administration,
  • Experience managing payroll for shift-based or multi-location operations is a plus.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in payroll systems such as ADP, GreytHR, SAP, Darwin Box, Ramco, or equivalent to optimize workflows.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, formulas). Knowledge of Power BI & Tableau is also an added advantage.
  • High attention to detail and ability to manage large datasets accurately.
  • Strong communication skills for resolving employee queries and collaborating with stakeholders.
  • Analytical mindset with problem-solving capabilities.
  • Discretion in handling sensitive payroll information.
  • Experience in handling payroll for rotational or night shifts.
  • Familiarity with compliances and tax benefits specific to EduTech or the equivalent of BPO/IT/ITES operations.
  • Knowledge of income tax computations.
