JOB OVERVIEW

We are seeking a strategic and technically proficient Data Platform Product Owner to lead the vision, roadmap, and development of our enterprise data platform. This role will bridge business needs and technical capabilities, ensuring that data infrastructure supports scalable analytics, data governance, and advanced data applications across the organization. Salary for this roles is starting at $150,000.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Define and communicate the vision and roadmap for the enterprise data platform in alignment with business goals.
• Own and prioritize the data platform product backlog, balancing technical needs with business value.
• Collaborate with engineering, data science, data governance, and business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into actionable user stories.
• Ensure the platform supports critical capabilities such as data ingestion, transformation, quality, cataloging, access control, and compliance.
• Advocate for and help implement best practices in data architecture, metadata management, data observability, and automation.
• Participate in sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives, ensuring development progress aligns with roadmap objectives.
• Monitor key performance metrics and platform adoption to continuously improve the product.
• Maintain a deep understanding of data technologies (e.g., cloud data lakes, data warehouses, ETL/ELT tools, orchestration frameworks).

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION

• BA/BS required; MBA is preferred

EXPERIENCE

• 5+ years of experience as a Product Owner, Product Manager, or similar role with a focus on data platforms or data infrastructure.
• Strong understanding of data platform concepts, including data lakes, data warehouses, data mesh, and modern ELT pipelines.
• Experience with technologies such as Snowflake, Databricks, BigQuery, AWS/GCP/Azure, Apache Airflow, or dbt.
• Familiarity with data governance, security, and compliance standards (e.g., GDPR, CCPA).
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work across business and technical teams.
• Proven ability to define product requirements and translate them into development-ready stories.
• Experience working in Agile environments.

SKILLS

• Experience in large-scale enterprise environments or regulated industries (e.g., finance, healthcare, education).
• Certifications in Agile (Scrum Product Owner), cloud platforms, or data management.
