We are looking for a is a talented Principal UX Designer to join our Design team at Barcelona Office. It is an exciting time to be part of a local fast pace growing design community within a bigger globally distributed team, working on new products, and infusing change in the organization!

If you have a deep understanding of user experience principles, a proven track record of successful design leadership, and the ability to translate business goals into intuitive, aesthetically pleasing, and efficient user interfaces, we would love to speak with you.

About You – experience, education, skills, and accomplishments

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in a design-related field such as HCI, Graphic Design, or Interaction Design.

  • 10+ years of experience in user experience design with a strong portfolio showcasing user-centered design solutions for complex projects across multiple platforms.

  • Technical Proficiency in design tools such as Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch and Invision.

  • Experience working in Agile development environments.

  • Excellent communication skills and ability to clearly articulate design decisions and rationale to cross-functional teams and stakeholders.

  • Familiarity with front-end development technologies such as HTML, CSS, JS and angular is a plus.

  • Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills with the ability to align design initiatives with business goals.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire a design team, fostering a collaborative and creative environment.

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.

It would be great if you also had . . .

  • Knowledge of design thinking and applied co-creation workshop facilitation.

What will you be doing in this role?

  • Design Leadership: Provide strategic direction and vision for the overall user experience design, ensuring alignment with business goals and user needs.

  • Team Mentoring: Lead and mentor a team of UX/UI designers, fostering a collaborative and innovative design culture. Provide guidance on design methodologies, best practices, and professional development.

  • Collaboration: Work closely with product managers, developers, and other stakeholders to understand project requirements, user needs, and business objectives. Collaborate to create seamless and cohesive user experiences.

  • Design Strategy: Develop and implement design strategies that elevate the user experience and align with the company's brand and objectives.

  • Research and Analysis: Collaborate and participate with the UX researchers on planning and executing user research, usability testing, and competitor analysis to inform design decisions and ensure a user-centric approach.

  • Prototyping and Wireframing: Create interactive prototypes and wireframes to communicate design concepts and interactions effectively. Iterate on designs based on feedback and user testing.

  • Design System Advocacy: Promote and maintain the use of a design system to ensure consistency and efficiency in design across products and platforms.

  • Stay Current: Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and design tools to continuously improve and evolve the UX design practice within the organization.

Product you will be developing

As a key member of our creative leadership, the Principal UX Designer will drive the design strategy, mentor a talented team of designers, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the delivery of high-quality and user-centric designs across multiple platforms of IP Patent intelligence, search, and analytics products.

About the Team

You’ll be joining a UX/UI Global team with more than 50 colleagues across the globe, working from Barcelona Office and being part of a local fast pace growing design community.

Hours of Work

This is a full-time, permanent contract (40 hours per week with flexibility)

Hybrid model (2-3 per week working from our Barcelona Office)
