We are looking for a Team Lead – Software Engineering to join our Trademark Content software development team in Belgrade. This is an amazing opportunity to work on Clarivate IPG products. The work is focused on the development and maintenance of our web-based applications for the Intellectual Property Market while actively shaping the future of given products, as well as team practices and processes. This role is a combination of People Management and hands-on work with the code. Please note that every 6th week, you will have to be available for 1 additional day per week for on-call duties (a couple of hours).

About You – experience, education, skills, and accomplishments

• 5+ years of experience developing Java (web) applications and services
• 5+ years of experience working with Oracle or SQL dbs
• 2+ years of exposure to team management or team leadership role
• 2+ years of experience with Linux operating systems
  

It would be great if you also had . . .

• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in computer science or related degree
• Experience with AWS cloud services (i.e. API Gateway, Lambda, SQS/SNS, S3, EC2, RDS or similar)
• Previous experience with MongoDB
• Experience working in a scrum development process
• Demonstrated experience in managing engineering teams across multiple locations

What will you be doing in this role?

• Oversee day-to-day operations and lead a team of colleagues
• Lead technical discussions, facilitate code reviews, and drive innovation.
• Actively involved and hands-on with writing clean, efficient, and maintainable code
• Regularly evaluate team performance, and technical capabilities, provide colleague feedback
• Implements design changes to improve quality, performance, cost reduction, etc.
• Define the architecture of the software solution
• Plan, delegate and direct the team’s day-to-day work to achieve operational targets or objective
• Be available for on-call duty 1 day every 6th week to make sure the release process goes smoothly

Product you will be developing
Trademark Content Team develops standalone Springboot applications that convert Trademark data from countries across the world. This data is processed and uploaded to an online database, facilitating trademark data loading and conversion. The processed trademark information is accessible to other teams and products within Clarivate. Additionally, customers can search for trademark data in the existing database. We use the IBM WebSphere Application for maintaining and editing trademark data.

About the Team
We’re a 100% remote and geo-diverse team of software engineers who work together with our product team and integration partners to design and develop and support our robust and growing data-driven software portfolio. The person in a Team Lead role will manage engineers from different locations while reporting to the Team Lead from Belgium.

Hours of Work

This is a permanent full-time position, with core engagement hours within CET time zone. Please note that on-call rotations will be required, 1 additional day per every 6th week. Additional hours will be paid per regulations.

This is a hybrid position, you will be expected to work from our Belgrade office 3 days every other week.
