As a member of the Banner Technical Team, the Banner Programmer Analyst utilizes superior programming skills and knowledge of customer business challenges to provide outstanding service to the Ellucian Managed Services client community. Programming requirements range from software troubleshooting, break/fix support, up to full application development. The work spans many areas including applications, integrations, and reporting. This is a customer-facing position that requires good consulting skills.
In addition, the successful candidate will be responsible for providing project management, leadership, needs assessment, integration services and the ability to develop a strong working relationship with the client.

• Provide creative technical input to help develop technical solutions to customer problems.
• Facilitate business process review and application prototyping sessions as well as providing business process analysis and insight into best practice methodologies.
• Consult with client to prototype, refine, test, and debug applications.
• Apply design and programming skills across all application tiers to develop and test application, changes, interfaces, reports, and scripts.
• Provide quality end-user consultation and support.
• Provide technical assistance by responding to inquiries from others regarding errors, problems, or questions about applications.
• Analyze code to find causes of errors and revise applications.
• Prepare documents related to requirements and specifications for conversion, reporting, interfaces, and custom applications.
• Write documentation that describes installation and operating procedures.
• Implementing systems and proof of concepts that best fit the customer's needs.
• Ensuring customer satisfaction until the project is complete.
• Provides high-quality customer technical consultation and support to Ellucian’s Banner products such as Ethos, Banner Extensibility, Ellucian Experience, Banner Self Service, etc.
• Assists customers with extensions that satisfy the customer needs that does not come out of the box on Ellucian Products.
• Drives Ellucian customers to innovative technology.
• Assists clients in troubleshooting issues related to Banner modules within the Ellucian Banner product suite.
• Mentors and trains less experienced consultants and review their work.
• Help with the generation estimations.
• Interacts with the customer and other consultants to translate business requirements into functional specifications for conversions, reporting, interfaces, and customizations.
• Monitors, tracks, and reports project risks, issues, milestones, and work completed, as well as work that is underway.
• Provides leadership for the customer enabling them to stay on time and on task.
• Facilitates business process review and application prototyping sessions as well as providing insight into best practice methodologies.
• Evaluates and modifies systems, where appropriate, relative to the customer business practices.
• Provides customer high-quality business process, change management and other appropriate documentation.
• Provides direction in developing testing methodology and test scripts for use during upgrades, patch application and customizations.
• Works with the customer to test and confirm modifications and/or updates meet specifications.
• Provides guidance in the development of user-training strategy, and when appropriate, delivers such training.

What you will bring

• 5+ years of Banner ERP experience.
• Proven analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with Oracle database developer expertise including SQL, PL/SQL, database functions and procedures.
• Experience with reporting tools including Argos, Cognos, Crystal Reports or similar products, preferable Argos.
• Experience using Oracle SQL development environment such as TOAD or SQL Developer.
• Experience with systems with end-to-end system integrations, data feed, and web service consumption.
• Proven ability to troubleshoot issues and implement solutions.
• Strong interpersonal communication skills and the ability to maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, vendors, and customers.
• UNIX/Linux shell script and or Cron experience.
• Experience with REST API consumption and development.
• Experience with Angular, HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, JQuery.
• Knowledge of Oracle Forms and Reports development experience.
• Knowledge at business and higher education applications, specifically Ellucian Banner.
• Knowledge of Java or Python languages.
• Knowledge on Groovy / GRAILS web application development experience.
• Knowledge on Application consulting is highly desired.
• Knowledge of REACT JS front end development is highly desired.
• Knowledge of any automation test tool such as selenium web driver.
• Knowledge of Github or other source code repositories.
• Self-starter attitude.
• Knowledge of any agile methodology.
