The Impact You Will Make

The Manager, Student Engagement is a key people leader within the Australia team, responsible for guiding and developing a team of Student Engagement Advisors to drive student enrolments and deliver meaningful outcomes. In this role, you will combine coaching, data-driven insights, and operational leadership to optimize the student journey from initial inquiry through enrolment. You will partner closely with university stakeholders and internal teams to identify growth opportunities, improve processes, and enhance the overall student experience. As a subject matter expert, you will play a critical role in aligning strategy, performance, and partner outcomes across your portfolio.

How You Will Bring Our Mission to Life

What You Will Do:

  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of Student Engagement Advisors/Coordinators to achieve enrolment and revenue targets, fostering a high-performing, student-centric culture.
  • Drive team performance through regular coaching, 1:1s, and team meetings, using data and insights to set priorities, monitor progress, and continuously improve outcomes across the student recruitment funnel.
  • Translate performance data into actionable insights by creating and sharing regular reports with senior leaders and stakeholders, enabling transparency, informed decision-making, and continuous optimization of student engagement strategies.
  • Optimize the end-to-end student journey by identifying and implementing improvements across lead management, student interactions, and campaign follow-up, ensuring an efficient, high-quality experience that supports business goals.
  • Act as the subject matter expert for assigned university partners and course portfolios, providing strategic insights and recommendations to enhance program growth.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with university stakeholders (including admissions, academic leaders, to align on goals, share insights, and identify opportunities to better serve students and meet partner objectives.
  • Collaborate closely with the marketing team to support and execute student recruitment initiatives, including webinars and campaigns
  • Partner with global enrolment and engagement teams to share best practices, drive consistency, and leverage insights across markets to improve performance and student outcomes.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement by proactively identifying opportunities to enhance processes, tools, and ways of working, ensuring scalability and effectiveness as the business grows.

What Success Looks Like:

  • Leads a high-performing Student Engagement team that meets or exceeds pipeline, conversion and enrolment targets through clear direction, coaching, and proactive performance management
  • Uses data and insights to continuously improve student interactions, and campaign follow-up, resulting in increased conversion rates, improved efficiency, and a better student experience.
  • Acts as a trusted advisor to university partners and internal teams, providing actionable insights, fostering collaboration, and influencing improvements across internal and external processes.

How Impact Will be Measured:

  • Delivery against enrolment and revenue targets: Achieves or exceeds new student enrolment goals by building and leading a high-performing team, with clear improvements in pipeline health, conversion rates, and overall team productivity.
  • Funnel optimization and operational effectiveness: Demonstrates measurable improvements in key recruitment metrics (e.g., speed to lead, lead to application and application to start rates).
  • Stakeholder alignment and partner outcomes: Partner satisfaction and retention, feedback from internal and partner teams as well as evidence of process improvements that have been implemented.

What You’ll Bring to the Team

Experience That Matters Most:

  • Student recruitment or higher education experience (3+ years): Strong understanding of the higher education landscape, student decision-making journey, and end-to-end recruitment/enrolment funnel, ideally within online or postgraduate programs
  • People leadership and team development: Proven experience coaching, and developing high-performing teams, with the ability to drive accountability, uplift capability, and foster a student-centric, results-driven culture.
  • Demonstrated ability to use data and insights to manage performance, identify opportunities, and implement improvements that increase conversion rates, operational efficiency, and overall student experience.

Experience That’s Great to Have:

  • Experience leading through change and transformation: Demonstrated ability to navigate evolving business environments, embedding new processes, and supporting teams through change with strong communication and change management practices.
  • Use of technology and data to drive growth: Experience leveraging CRM systems, or AI-enabled tools to enhance student engagement and improve funnel efficiency
  • Cross-functional and partner collaboration: Experience working across teams both internally and and externally to align on shared goals, influence outcomes, and deliver improved performance.
