As the Senior Manager of Financial Planning and Analysis, you will be a critical member of Strada’s Corporate Finance COE, primarily supporting Strada’s mission-driven organizations in Strada’s non-profit holding company, Strada Collaborative which includes: Education at Work (EAW, https://educationatwork.org), Council for Experiential Learning (CAEL, https://www.cael.org), Roadtrip Nation (RTN, https://roadtripnation.com), and InsideTrack (ITK, https://www.insidetrack.org).
This individual will play a critical role in ensuring smooth processes of all financial operations and financial planning for assigned units in support of Strada’s strategic plan. The Senior Manager, Financial Planning & Analysis will provide strong business partnerships and support to maximize financial results in a manner that yields challenging, but achievable strategic plans, budgets, and forecasts, and provides a clear understanding of results aligned with mission outcomes.
In this role, you will partner with key functional leaders (e.g., sales/partnerships, delivery, operations, marketing, and impact evaluation) across the organization to provide analysis and reporting to effectively manage the organization. This position will also provide financial advice and strategic support to senior management including preparing monthly financial reporting, quarterly business reviews, board presentations, and analyzing new business opportunities. A key component to success is preparing and using data to help the organization optimize financial performance to reach its mission-driven goals and objectives.
As part of the Strada Corporate Finance team, you will participate in and contribute to corporate-led projects and initiatives that drive strong internal controls, champion technological process and efficiency improvement, and strive for superior service delivery within a developing customer-centric shared services model. This position reports to Strada’s Vice President of Finance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Planning and Reporting - (25% of time)
  • Coordinate & lead monthly meetings with CFO, VP, Finance, and other finance leaders to review results
  • Support assigned leadership and FP&A teams as finance partner completing strategic planning, budgeting, forecasting, and monthly actual reporting as well as providing other general support as needed
  • Create and update monthly dashboards with consolidated corporate financials, analyze results, coordinate reviews with unit finance personnel (EAW, CAEL, ITK, RTN, W/A), and prepare variance explanations for senior finance leadership review meetings
  • Prepare companion presentations as requested and participate in financial review meetings with various levels of management
  • Business Partnering - (25% of the time)
  • The role partners with assigned corporate business areas to support the strategic planning, budget, actual, and forecast activities as well as the development of financial presentations and participation in financial review meetings with various levels of leadership
  • Prepare and submit routine and ad hoc financial reports requested by Strada leadership
  • Business Analysis - (25% of the time)
  • Generate a monthly financial summary file for use in explaining actual versus budget and actual versus prior year variances, coordinate commentary, and distribute to appropriate personnel within designated
  • Assist in the administration of the corporate allocation process which includes activities during strategic planning, budget, actuals, and forecast periods
  • Oversee cascading and reporting of allocations and over/under budget allocation process
  • Develop financial models and analyses to support strategic initiatives
  • Financial Systems and Data Management - (15% of the time)
  • Senior Manager leads the monthly consolidation, review, and reporting of results and functions as the finance technical expert for Oracle NetSuite and FP&A Planning software
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes through automation and tools
  • Agility with financial systems and business intelligence tools and dashboards
  • Corporate Initiatives and Projects - (10% of the time)
  • Miscellaneous projects - projects such as business transformations, shared services improvements, system-related projects, and business case development
  • Provide leadership, support, and development of assigned staff, if applicable.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Economics, Engineering or Finance
  • Experience Required
  • 3 - 5+ years experience as FP&A Manager or Senior Analyst in top-tier companies.
  • Insightful, influential, strong communicator (verbal and written), and strong leadership skills required.
  • Product know-how, process view, strong business & analytical skills, and result-oriented professional.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and GSuite skills.
  • BI and Data Analysis skills and experience with Tableau or Power BI, are highly desired.
  • Enterprise Accounting and Finance systems experience.
  • Project Management skills.
  • Highest standards of ethics, accuracy, and precision; highly organized.
  • Ability to think creatively acts as a business partner and is self-motivated.
  • Demonstrated ability to roll-up sleeves and work exceptionally as team members in a hands-on management capacity.
  • Strong cross-functional influence and project management skills.
Travel Requirements:
Travel is limited estimated at 10% of the time.
Strada is a hybrid work environment where employees work from either Strada's Washington, DC or Indianapolis, IN office at least two days a week.
