Savvas Learning Company is seeking a Sales Specialist - Literacy to cover our Southwest territory, which includes Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana, and Arkansas.
If you are familiar with the Texas educational landscape and have a strong pedagogical background in literacy, this is an opportunity you don't want to miss. We are looking for a specialist to work alongside our elite sales team to grow our market presence.
In this role, you will serve as the "influencer". You will utilize your deep content expertise to win over state and district decision-makrs and ensure every partnership you build is set for success.

Following the sales cycle, this role will also be responsible for post-sales support and activation.

Ideal candidates will reside close to a major airport in Texas (Dallas, Austin, San Antonio, Houston).

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY

  • Achieve Revenue Targets: Contribute to meeting and exceeding team sales quota in the Southwest market.
  • Deliver Presentations: Create and present compelling and persuasive presentations
  • Build and Maintain Relationships: Develop and maintain relationships with key PK-12 decision-makers within the market segment.
  • Provide Feedback: Gather and relay customer feedback to sales, product, and marketing teams to enhance offerings and strategies.
  • Conduct Training: Provide Product Activation training for both new and existing customer accounts.
  • Understand Solutions: Demonstrate a deep knowledge of Savvas Learning Company’s Literacy solutions, both print and digital.
  • Deliver Excellent Service: Provide high levels of customer service consistently to foster satisfaction and loyalty.


IDEAL CANDIDATES WILL HAVE:

  • Deep K-12 Knowledge: Experience in PK-12 Literacy education, with a strong understanding of curriculum standards and frameworks as well as knowledge of assessment and intervention practices.
  • Sales Focus: A sales representative with a drive to meet and exceed revenue targets.
  • Presentation Skills: Expert in the delivery of engaging and informative sales presentations and product orientations.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5+ years of K-12 education experience to include classroom teaching experience.
  • Previous experience in selling and servicing in the education market is desirable.
  • Coaching/Curriculum Coordinator at at top Texas district preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Specialty training or advanced certification is preferred.
  • Expert knowledge of education theory and market trends in PK-12 Literacy.
  • Knowledge of the competitive landscape preferred.
  • Deep knowledge and passion for learning in PK-12 education.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver winning presentations in large and small groups.


ADDITIONAL SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE

  • This person must reside in Texas.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 20 lbs.
  • Monitoring and managing timekeeping and expenses in accordance with Savvas Travel and Expense policies.
  • 40-60% travel within the territory is a significant part of this role. This will involve overnight stays and working hours that typically extend beyond the traditional business hours, including evenings and weekends. Occasional travel to other territories may be required.
  • Flexibility in travel schedule and readiness to adjust plans as required to meet business needs, sometimes at short notice, are essential for this role.
