Job Summary:
As the Strategic Sales and Marketing Director, you will play a vital role in driving revenue growth, brand awareness, and market positioning. The responsibilities of this position are diverse and far-reaching, requiring a unique blend of strategic thinking, leadership, and technical expertise. The main duties include designing plans to meet sales targets, developing and cultivating relationships with clients and evaluating costs to determine their products’ pricing when selling to customers.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Strategic Planning: The Director of Marketing and Sales develops comprehensive marketing and sales strategies aligned with the overall business objectives. They analyze market trends, customer insights, and competitive landscape to identify growth opportunities and set strategic goals.
- Marketing Management: They oversee the marketing department and are responsible for developing and executing marketing campaigns, branding initiatives, advertising efforts, and public relations activities. They work closely with marketing teams to ensure consistent messaging, effective lead generation, and brand positioning.
- Sales Management: The Director of Marketing and Sales leads the sales department, including sales managers and representatives. They set sales targets, establish sales processes, and implement strategies to drive sales growth. They monitor sales performance, analyze sales data, and identify areas for improvement.
- Market Research and Analysis: They conduct market research and gather customer insights to identify target markets, understand customer needs, and assess market opportunities. This information helps in developing effective marketing and sales strategies.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: The Director of Marketing and Sales collaborates with other departments, such as product development, operations, and finance, to align marketing and sales strategies with overall business objectives. They ensure coordination between departments to drive customer-centric approaches and enhance customer experiences.
- Budgeting and Resource Allocation: They develop marketing and sales budgets and allocate resources effectively. They monitor expenses, manage vendor relationships, and optimize the return on investment for marketing and sales initiatives.
- Performance Analysis and Reporting: The Director of Marketing and Sales analyzes marketing and sales metrics, key performance indicators (KPIs), and other data to measure the effectiveness of strategies and campaigns. Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in marketing, business administration, or a related field
- Proven experience in marketing and sales, ideally with 7+ years of progressive experience in roles of increasing responsibility
- Experience in leadership or management positions, preferably in marketing or sales
