THE OPPORTUNITY
The Vice President, Digital Experience will serve as a critical part of Scholastic's digital transformation efforts as part of Scholastic’s Digital Services organization, creating and executing strategies that leverage technology to drive business growth opportunities.
Scholastic Digital Services is responsible for partnering across lines of business to drive more sophisticated data and digital strategies, and this role will be pivotal in driving high-level communications with Senior Leadership, while bridging strategy between our business and technology functions. Reporting into the Vice President of eCommerce and Digital Experience, this role will both lead the Product Management team in creating the strategy for and executing the annual roadmap, as well as leading key transformation and growth initiatives bridging business and technology from ideation to execution
RESPONSIBILITIES
Envision, evaluate, develop, and execute multi-faceted digital strategies across Scholastic's marketing and ecommerce experiences that align business growth strategies with digital best practices, serving as a digital experience expert to stakeholders across Scholastic
Lead key digital initiatives from ideation to execution, collaborating with business, technology and operations teams to determine feasibility, gain buy-in, create an approach, and execute against the goals.
Lead, mentor, and inspire the Product Management team in the execution of Scholastic's annual digital experience roadmap, partnering with business, technology, and design teams to deliver projects on time and on budget
Apply data and insights (inclusive of customer insights from design research and consumer research teams, as well as market trends) to identify opportunities, build business cases, and evaluate and present results as they relate to business performance and growth, and propose recommendations for optimizations
Build and maintain deep stakeholder relationships across business units and functions, including Education Solutions, Book Fairs, Trade, Technology, and Operations

Qualifications
HOW YOU CAN FIT (Qualifications)
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Proven successful track record of developing and leading sophisticated digital experience strategies for large brand(s) that drive positive ROI and business growth
Deep understanding of customer experience, marketing, eCommerce, and experience design concepts
High degree of problem solving skills approached with a consultative mindset, with ability to bring a clear point of view and work collaboratively across business, technology and design in a highly matrixed organization
Strategic and analytical thinker with ability to create business cases and scenario modeling, as well as executive level presentations to present strategies and options, gain buy-in from stakeholders, and provide updates for strategic initiatives
Remain informed on key industry trends, including emerging technologies and best practices, to future-proof our digital experiences
Ability to build and maintain an understanding of Scholastic's enterprise architecture and key dependencies across teams and platforms, to be able to "connect the dots" across elements of the portfolio and identify synergies
Ability to manage third party vendor contracts and relationships, as well as identify and negotiate new vendor partners
Familiarity with key eCommerce and digital experience platforms such as AEM, Salesforce Commerce Cloud, and Adobe Analytics a plus
Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders in parallel in a fast-paced environment
Proven leader, with excellent communication and ability to rally large teams around ambitious goals
Experience: 10+ years of experience; Experience at a major consultancy and/or retailer in a business and technology related role preferred.
Education: Bachelor's degree in business administration, marketing or related area; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
