Strayer University is seeking a dynamic Adjunct Faculty member to join our academics team. We are currently in search of a passionate professor for an on-ground Graduate level Computer Information Systems course (CIS 512) for the upcoming Winter quarter, starting January 2, 2024 at our Arlington, VA campus. Our classes are on a 12-week quarter schedule and typically run one evening per week from 6:00 pm to 10:00 pm.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Teach courses as assigned from a pre-designed curriculum and utilize your professional expertise to provide high quality instruction.
Enhance the strength and effectiveness of the curriculum through the use of technology and videos.
Utilize the online learning platform to enrich the student learning experience.
Be available to students via email, phone, text, and office hours to ensure students receive quality feedback in a timely manner to support their academic success.
Establish high standards and ensure students understand how they will be evaluated.
Adhere to University policies and procedures.
Attend faculty meetings and workshops or trainings as required.
Job Skills:
Effectively communicate with all levels of the University.
Demonstrated knowledge of academic technology.
Demonstrated knowledge of academic evaluation.
Proficiency in oral presentation skills, planning and organizing of course objectives.
Must have strong computer skills (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Ability to manage potentially stressful situations in a professional and ethical manner.
Work Experience:
Teaching experience at the college level and online teaching experience strongly preferred.
Education:
All degrees must be conferred and from an accredited institution to be considered
PhD or Doctorate in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Computer Information Systems, Management Information Systems or related field
Other:
Must be able to lift up to 10 lbs.
Mobility within the office including movement from floor to floor.
Access information using a computer.
Effectively communicate, both up and down the management chain.
Effectively cope with stressful situations.
Strong mental acuity.
