We are searching for a results-oriented, student outcomes focused Senior Manager of Learner Success to join our operations team at Sophia Learning. The right person for this role will bring experience successfully remediating college students to achieve successful outcomes and a clear point of view on how to scale that support with Sophia’s asynchronous, self-paced approach.

The Senior Manager of Student Success will lead a team of course owners to develop a data driven approach to driving successful completion of Sophia courses. They will lead this team to support learners through a variety of modalities including email, phone calls, videos, video office hours, tutoring and more.

A candidate will be successful in this role if they have a strong track record of data-driven student support and at least 2 years of experience managing a team to deliver an excellent student experience.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead, coach and own the professional development of a team of course owners.
  • Collaborate with data team to develop highly actionable reporting that enables targeted real-time intervention for struggling learners.
  • Own course completion rate and apply excellent problem-solving skills to unblock obstacles and find creative solutions.
  • Leverage data to drive effective team management and cross functional collaboration to achieve ambitious goals.
  • Develop scalable systems to support struggling learners in alignment with course materials and Sophia’s competency-based approach.
  • Effectively manage escalations and engage cross functional counterparts
  • Collaborate cross functionally to operationalize and scale student support tactics
  • Develop and maintain playbook with team best practices and processes.
  • Lead team to deliver a best-in-class learner experience with exemplary satisfaction
  • Other responsibilities as assigned

  • Ability to analyze and present data and findings clearly, concisely, and accurately, and be able to draw meaningful conclusion and recommendations for action.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally.
  • Must be self-motivated and can motivate others.
  • Must be detail-oriented and able to manage multiple projects on varying timeline.

Work Experience:

  • 2+ years managing teams
  • 4+ years in education with focus on hands on remediation and support for adult learners.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience using PowerBI or similar reporting tools to drive results

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree required; Master’s preferred

Other:

  • Must be able to travel occasionally should a business need arise. For most roles travel would not be common. Travel may involve plane, car or metro. In accordance with ADA policies, reasonable accommodations regarding travel limitations can be provided.
  • Ability to work onsite in Corporate or Campus location (in a typical office environment) may be required based on role. If so, this would include being mobile within the office, including movement from floor-to-floor using elevators or stairs.
