The Opportunity

At K12 Coalition, a commitment to transforming educational outcomes for K-12 schools drives all Request for Proposal (RFP) efforts. The Proposals Content Writer will manage the preparation, writing, and submission of RFPs, including multi-vendor awards, focusing on producing clear, persuasive, and strategically aligned proposals. This role emphasizes high-level narrative development, ensuring proposals effectively communicate the organization’s value proposition. The Content Writer is accountable for drafting comprehensive responses, customizing templates, and ensuring all content is compelling and tailored to client needs. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute directly to securing key projects and driving organizational success. The Proposals Content Writer reports directly to the Director, Business Development.

What You’ll Do

RFP Drafting & Development

  • Draft comprehensive RFPs for multi-vendor awards, including pricing, ensuring all components are thorough and aligned with client requirements.
  • Write RFPs that accurately define the scope of work, ensuring all client needs are addressed and aligned with organizational objectives.
  • Customize RFP templates to align with the specific needs and criteria of each project.
  • Develop detailed work plans for each RFP, organizing key tasks, timelines, and contributors to ensure smooth submission processes.

Content Collaboration & Strategy

  • Collaborate with executive sponsors to craft a cohesive vision for proposal content. Independently draft 80% of the material, incorporating sponsor input to ensure alignment with strategic goals and minimizing turnaround time.
  • Copy-edit and review all RFP submissions to ensure clarity, coherence, and compliance with guidelines.
  • Prepare and submit well-crafted questions to the RFP procurement officer to clarify any ambiguities or requirements.

Compliance & Submission

  • Ensure all content meets specified RFP requirements, minimizing disqualification risks.
  • Package and submit all RFP components, including attachments and forms, ensuring proper formatting and compliance with submission guidelines.

Project Management

  • Efficiently oversee multiple RFPs, typically overseeing 2-3 right-to-work RFPs and 2 additional RFPs within a two-week window, ensuring all timelines are met with high-quality submissions.

Other Duties

  • Assist the team with additional tasks and responsibilities as needed to help meet evolving organizational goals and objectives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Business, Communications, Marketing, English, or a related field
  • 2-4 years of experience in content writing, RFP writing, or proposal coordination
  • Experience with state or federal procurement processes and multi-vendor RFPs is a plus
  • Experience in Salesforce or similar CRM systems for tracking and reporting
  • Strong project management know-how with the aptitude to handle multiple RFPs and timelines concurrently
  • Excellent writing and editing skills with strong attention to detail
  • Strong people and communication skills for cross-functional collaboration

Compensation Range

The compensation range for this position is $80,000 - $100,000.
