ABOUT LIS

The challenges humanity is facing aren't the stuff of dystopia, science fiction, or textbooks. They're happening today – and they've never been more complex and interconnected.

Yet our higher education system is still structured in silos, leaving graduates ill-equipped to tackle the complexity that surrounds them. The next generation is now demanding to learn in a different way. That's where The London Interdisciplinary School comes in.

LIS is a start-up university that equips learners with an interdisciplinary toolkit to tackle the complex, real-world problems of the 21st century. With a world-class faculty, five exceptional cohorts and close partnerships with global organisations, LIS is building a new type of education for those who want to shape the world, not just fit in.

We are the first new UK education institution for 50 years to be granted full degree-awarding power since inception, and offer Bachelor's, Master's, and soon an MBA programme that take a ground-breaking interdisciplinary approach to education.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are launching the LIS MBA, intended to disrupt the current management education landscape and deliver the kind of education future leaders of organisations need to succeed.

Reporting to the Head of Recruitment and Admissions, this role will be at the forefront of bringing the LIS MBA to the market. The role holder will play a fundamental role in bringing in our founding cohort of LIS MBA students and building a long-term pipeline to grow the programme. This is a rare opportunity to design and implement a recruitment strategy for a new kind of MBA programme from the programme launch.

In addition, the role holder will be responsible for our B2C pipeline for our innovative suite of professional short courses. Working closely with the Head of Network, they will help develop the portfolio and onboard new learners.

WHO IS THE LIS MBA FOR?

Our students want to keep their eyes on the horizon not just the road ahead. They want to interrogate the complexity of our shifting world to uncover where enduring value can be created. They are in search of purpose, they are intellectually brave, open-minded, pioneering. Our student is a mindset, not a demographic. They don’t want to simply catch up with the rest. They want to leap ahead.

LIS STUDENT RECRUITMENT PRINCIPLES

  • High touch – we will be in regular contact with qualified contacts, understanding their motivations, barriers, and personal context.
  • Human centric – we will take an individualised approach to engagement, favouring personalised connection over automated outreach.
  • Focussed – we will concentrate our resources on contacts who have the highest likelihood of successfully joining the cohort.
  • Agile – we will be flexible in our approach – failing fast, learning lessons, and pivoting tactics when required.
  • Community driven – we will amplify our efforts by engaging the whole LIS community – staff, students, faculty, alumni, prospects, and partners.
