The Role
TalkNow is a 24/7, 365, on-demand telehealth service that exclusively serves the higher education student population. As a full-time TalkNow Provider with TimelyCare, you will act as a primary form of emotional support for the students and members (i.e. faculty & staff) we serve. We are looking for providers who have successfully completed a masters degree in professional counseling, social work, and/or marriage and family therapist who have worked with populations in need of crisis intervention, de-escalation, risk assessment, and safety planning.
Location
We offer a remote work environment. Work from home criteria includes but is not limited to maintaining your own internet with approved speed requirements, HIPAA compliant workspace free from distractions, and successful completion of the credentialing, onboarding, and training programs. Adherence to HIPAA and compliance standards, and all policies / procedures required for this role.
What You'll Do
- Act as a primary counselor & triage for incoming TalkNow sessions (via phone, video or chat) to support members (i.e. students, faculty, or staff) with a person-centered, strengths-based approach
- Provide crisis intervention, de-escalation, and triage support as needed for students using TalkNow services
- Complete a minimum of 30 TalkNow sessions per week. TalkNow sessions are targeted for 30 minutes, including time for documentation
- Collaborate with members to develop care plans, progress care, and conduct risk assessments as needed
- Appropriately document sessions, assessments, and care plans in our electronic health record (EHR)
- Adhere to established standards for AIDET communication (acknowledge, introduce, duration, explanation, and thank), clinical documentation quality, HIPAA/PHI and telehealth regulation
- Participate in the quality assurance investigations to gather all applicable facts
- Support the Director of Mental Health with client-facing related activities
What You Bring
- Minimum of a master’s degree in professional counseling, social work, or marriage & family therapy is required
- Strong clinical writing, assessment, and active listening skills
- Experience with crisis intervention and de-escalation
- Fully Licensed Mental Health Practitioner with North Carolina state license - PLUS

- Able to assess, triage, and document sessions with students potentially in crisis and/or are experiencing thoughts of self-harm or suicidal ideation, etc,
- Able to respond to students who are potentially in crisis with professionalism, support, empathy, and an awareness of cultural humility

The salary range for this opportunity is $45,000 - $50,000 for an unlicensed provider, and $55,000 for a licensed provider per year, depending on education, experience, and licensing. This is the base pay, and you will be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to the base pay.
