Experiencia Requerida
3 year experience within packaging design, product specifications, manufacturing, or Quality, preferably in the packaging or
brewing industries.

Resumen
Develop, document, issue and maintain product specifications (Quality technical sheets) for CBI's Beer Division by working with internal and external users to validate and guarantee that the Quality requirements of the company are fully documented and met. Assist CBI’s Procurement, R&D, Marketing, Planning and New Product and Packaging teams in all Packaging Change projects regarding the development of new suppliers, dielines, artwork and/or packaging materials to drive execution and meet the scheduled production and launch dates. Support the Print Quality and Master Dieline programs to ensure printing quality and consistency across suppliers, facilities and printing technologies. Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product Quality throughout CBI’s supply chain (supplier, brewery, warehouse, wholesaler and retail).
Responsabilidades
1. Design product specifications (technical sheets) for all components and Finished Goods within CBI’s Beer Division to ensure compliance, consistency and functionality. This includes the following:
- Technical sheets for components (packaging materials) both in terms of structural design and graphics (artwork)
- Technical sheets for inbound shipments describing how components needs to be shipped from supplier to brewery
- Technical sheets for Finished Goods, including all its components and packaging processes (coding, glue application, palletizing, stretch-wrapping, etc.)
- Technical sheets for outbound shipments describing how each Finished Good needs to be shipped from brewery to Distribution Center (warehouse, wholesaler)
2. Upload all product specifications into OpenText (a document management software). Manage access to OpenText for CBI’s employees and vendor representatives and provide trouble-shooting support to users. Develop and coordinate all necessary enhancements or new requirements to OpenText to fulfill the Quality department needs in order to have an easy access platform to consult, download and create technical documents.
3. Supervise approval process and version control to ensure any changes to product specifications are properly approved and thoroughly documented and that only the most up-to-date version is available in Open Text. Set up an electronic archive to store obsolete versions. Communicate any changes to current product and/or packaging specifications to all required parties.
4. Coordinate with the Materials Requirement Planning (MRP) and Master Data Management (MDM) teams during the set- up process for components and Bill of Materials to ensure a timely and accurate ordering of new materials to meet production needs. Update the Finished Goods technical sheets accordingly to reflect any changes. Review with both teams all packaging changes to minimize destruction of discontinued materials, determine timeline for transition and trigger point to consider the discontinued materials obsolete.
5. Support CBI’s Procurement and R&D teams in developing product specifications for new product and packaging development projects in conjunction with CBI’s packaging suppliers.
6. Assist CBI’s Marketing and New Products and Packaging teams in developing line extensions, artwork changes and new product introductions by providing technical expertise in packaging materials and printing technologies and by taking part in pre-production meetings, pilots and press approvals.
7. Participate in brewery and packaging supplier audits and in new vendor and material selection and qualification processes to ensure the breweries, suppliers and materials meet CBI’s Quality standards and technical specifications.
8. Assist the New Product and Packaging team in the implementation of the Print Quality Management Program in conjunction with CBI’s artwork execution partners like SGS. The program includes development of printing standards, package evaluation and printer assessment.
9. Coordinate monthly reviews with the breweries on new products or packaging changes coming through CBI’s Innovation and NPD pipelines. Maintain CBI’s Print Quality Manual and provide training to the breweries on how to evaluate printing quality and color consistency during inspection of incoming packaging materials from CBI’s suppliers.
10. Collaborate with SGS and packaging suppliers in the development of the Master Dieline Program to clearly define all printing requirements and parameters for artwork development in order to ensure printing quality and consistency across suppliers, facilities and printing technologies.
11. Drive the design and implementation of continuous improvement initiatives regarding product specifications for packaging materials to improve their overall performance and appearance from brewery to retail. Initiatives might include changes to substrate, inks, printing technology, coatings, dielines, dimensions, pallet and loading configurations, etc.).
12. Conduct monthly reviews of the accuracy and relevance of all technical sheets uploaded onto Open Text to ensure the information in the system is correct, complete, and up to date. Monitor the role’s KPIs regarding full and timely completion of technical sheets, and review performance with upper management on a bi-monthly basis.
