Nerdy is looking for a Senior Financial Analyst to join our team! The Senior Financial Analyst provides modeling support, forecasting, analytics, and reporting to senior management for all functions within the business. The role also supports special projects such as automation initiatives, the implementation of new systems and processes, and the financial due diligence and integration of business growth initiatives. The role participates heavily in financial planning and reporting for the company, including weekly and monthly business reviews and operating plan development. The individual in this role will need to take a proactive approach to financial analysis, forecasting, and reporting, with a focus on delivering insights that support our company's growth and financial health. This role would be based out of our corporate headquarters in St. Louis, Missouri (Clayton area).

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field (Master's degree or CPA preferred).
  • 3-5 years of experience in financial analysis, planning, and reporting.
  • Advanced proficiency in financial modeling and analysis tools (e.g., Excel, SQL, financial software).
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial statements.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct detailed financial analysis and modeling to support key business functions and decisions.
  • Prepare and present regular financial reports, forecasts, and budgets to senior management.
  • Analyze financial performance, identify trends, and provide actionable insights and recommendations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement financial strategies.
  • Monitor key financial metrics and KPIs, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
  • Assist in the development and enhancement of financial systems, processes, and controls.
  • Support month-end and year-end closing activities, including reconciliations and variance analysis.
  • Participate in ad-hoc projects and provide financial expertise as needed.
