About Ziplines

Ziplines Education is a category-leading education company that partners with universities to deliver industry-focused certificate courses that prepare professionals for today’s digital-first workforce. Each year, we have the opportunity to help thousands of career advancers build the knowledge, skills, and credentials they need to move their careers forward. 92% of learners would recommend our programs and our net promoter score is consistently in the excellent range — student outcomes are at the center of our company mission.

That’s why dozens of leading U.S. colleges and universities, including the University of Virginia, the University of Arizona, and the University of Oregon, trust Ziplines Education as a continuing education partner. Together, we empower adult learners to confidently pursue the career they’ve always wanted. And we’re doing it at scale, powered by an incredible team. In August 2023, we raised a $6.4M Series A and are on a trajectory to achieve profitability in 2025.

About you

You're a thoughtful product marketer, keen on deeply understanding what makes our learners tick. You see the world through a consumer lens, leveraging personas and customer interviews and market research to identify and articulate the value proposition of our individual products. You’re a hands-on, roll-up-your-sleeves doer who is excited to influence the organization's growth through data-driven, actionable consumer insights, anchored to Ziplines' mission, strategy, and core differentiators.

About the Role:

As Ziplines Education's first product marketing hire, you will be responsible for establishing the function, as well as the value of product marketing across the business. Key areas of responsibility include product positioning, GTM strategy, as well as customer and market insights:

Product Positioning & Analysis: Help to drive improved funnel performance for existing programs through analysis, customer insight work, and product positioning enhancements.

Market Research: Lead Ziplines customer and market insight work to inform ongoing improvements to our existing programs, as well as net-new course development.

You will:

  • Conduct comprehensive market research to gain insights into customer needs, preferences, and industry trends, leveraging findings to inform enhancements to current programs and the development of new courses.

  • Collaborate closely with the growth and LXD teams to ensure effective articulation of product value propositions and support ongoing customer engagement and lifetime value.

  • Contribute to the development of marketing collateral, including the learner-facing marketing syllabus, website and email copy, training materials for the admissions team, etc., to effectively communicate Ziplines Education's value proposition to target audiences.

  • Work closely with the analytics, growth, and LXD teams to help define our approach to future course selection, including market research, persona definition, and potential GTM strategies.

  • Monitor and analyze competitive landscape and industry developments to identify opportunities to refresh critical content areas and provide ongoing strategic recommendations focused on product success and differentiation.

  • Work cross-functionally to build and shape Ziplines AI strategy and help answer open questions around how we embed AI into our organization and our courses.

You have:

  • 3+ years leading product marketing strategy and execution for a startup or high-growth organization (at least 2+ years in higher education).

  • 5+ years of experience in general marketing, product, or product marketing experience, including customer research, creation of personals and definition around value proposition.

  • Proven experience in developing and scaling product marketing at early-stage startup organizations

  • The ability to work cross-functionally, bridging gaps between different departments and ensuring cohesion in strategy and execution

  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to present strategic initiatives to the executive team and gain buy-in your cross-functional counterparts
