About this role

The main objective of the Marketing Manager-Digital Channel Optimization is to integrate and optimize current digital marketing channels, such as social media marketing, online marketing, search engine optimization, and AI-enabled marketing platforms to better support the goals and targets of Wiley marketing in China. Working closely with colleagues in Journal Portfolio Marketing, Author Marketing, Institutional Marketing, and Data & Analytics, the role holder will be responsible for the effectiveness of our digital marketing campaigns and ensuring maximum impact through best-in-class execution tactics. The role holder will play a key part in defining a digital marketing channel strategy in China for both B2B and B2C markets.

Responsibilities

  • Review and refine an overarching strategy for social media marketing, online marketing, and SEO for the China market.
  • Drive and escalate AI-enabled marketing in digital channels, building new workflows and improving marketing efficiency using AI tools.
  • Collaborate with local and global marketing teams to integrate all digital channels with an aim to maximize campaign effectiveness, track marketing performance, and enhance cross-team collaborations.
  • Lead a local team of four to deliver digital campaigns and ensure the achievement of expected results.
  • Elevate marketing performance with a focus on demand generation and submission growth through optimized digital marketing channels.
  • Enhance Wiley’s brand and impact in Research and Learning communities through effective digital channels by collaborating with the content marketing team.
  • Provide weekly and monthly analysis reports about digital channel performance to senior managers.
  • Understand all changes and challenges in the market, explore new opportunities and channels to drive marketing performance, and provide insights to key stakeholders.
  • Work closely with the global digital marketing team to develop innovative ways to enhance the performance and capabilities of our digital marketing efforts in the China market.

The role holder will have strong experience in digital marketing in the China market and abundant knowledge about the global market. Collaborating with a team of passionate marketers, the role holder will be excited about using all digital channels to deliver performance and drive marketing capabilities. Being a team player is essential alongside strong communication skills for stakeholder engagement and consultations.

Essential

  • A master’s degree in science
  • 5-6 years of digital marketing experience, including social media marketing, AI-enabled marketing, and proven success
  • Solid understanding and knowledge of working with local digital marketing channels, SEO, and a broad understanding of paid media and AI tools for marketing
  • Strong attention to detail, demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Skilled management and performance-driven team leadership

Desirable

  • Experience with AI-enabled marketing in content generation and campaign planning
  • Social media marketing experience in RedNote, WeChat, Douyin, etc.
  • Digital channel GTM strategy
  • Insights about the publishing industry and customers’ needs
  • Teamwork and collaboration mindset
  • Good communication skills with local and global teams
