About the Role
We are seeking an entrepreneurial and results-driven Account Manager to join our new Corporate Markets team, based in South Korea. This is an exceptional opportunity for a seasoned sales professional to be part of building something new while leveraging Wiley's established reputation in the STM publishing industry.
You will be responsible for managing and expanding our corporate customer base across South Korea and the broader APAC region, focusing on journal subscriptions, non-journal products such as The Cochrane Library, online books and major reference works, and emerging AI-powered research applications. This role combines strategic account management with new business development, requiring someone who can think both tactically and strategically while maintaining strong customer relationships.
How you will make an impact:
- Achieve and exceed annual territory sales targets for journal and non-journal subscriptions and AI licensing
- Develop and execute comprehensive account strategies for corporate clients across various sectors including engineering, pharmaceuticals, chemicals and energy
- Identify and capitalize on new business opportunities within existing accounts and through prospecting
- Drive adoption of new AI licenses
- Manage complex sales cycles and negotiations with multiple stakeholders
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers across corporate accounts
- Conduct regular customer visits and maintain high levels of customer satisfaction and retention
- Understand client research needs and provide tailored content and solution recommendations
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure seamless service delivery and customer experience
- Monitor account performance and provide regular updates to clients and management
- Develop deep understanding of the Korean and APAC corporate research landscape
- Identify market trends, competitive activities, and growth opportunities
- Participate in industry conferences, trade shows, and networking events
- Maintain accurate records in CRM systems and provide detailed sales forecasting
- Track and analyze customer usage patterns and satisfaction metrics
- Contribute to strategic planning and business development initiatives
What we look for:
- Must be based in South Korea with native or business-fluent Korean and English
- 5+ years of successful B2B sales experience, preferably in publishing, information services, or technology sectors
- Proven track record selling to corporate clients, particularly in research-intensive industries
- Demonstrated history of exceeding sales targets
- Knowledge of artificial intelligence applications in research and corporate environments
- Comfortable building new market presence and developing innovative approaches
- Experience with STM publishing, academic content, or research intelligence solutions
- Ability to develop long-term account strategies while executing tactical plans
- Excellent presentation, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
- Strong focus on understanding and meeting client needs
- Working effectively with cross-functional teams across different time zones
