ALTA Language Services is a leading provider of language solutions with a particularly deep footprint in healthcare. We’ve built a strong reputation and a loyal client base over decades in this space. Now we’re ready to scale — and to do that, we need to build a real outbound sales engine for the first time.

The Opportunity

ALTA has strong product-market fit in healthcare, deep relationships with some of the most recognizable health systems in the country, and a proven track record. What we haven’t had is a dedicated, structured approach to outbound growth.
This role is primarily responsible for generating new revenue — new logos, new relationships, new pipeline. We have a team managing existing accounts and inbound opportunities. What we don’t have — and what this role is entirely focused on — is a structured outbound engine. You’ll build that from scratch: the strategy, the playbook, the pipeline, and eventually the team around it.
You’ll come in as a player-coach in the truest sense: owning and closing large, complex deals yourself while standing up the outbound function. You’ll also oversee all key accounts and directly supervise our Key Account Manager, ensuring top clients receive the strategic attention they deserve.
This is a Director-level role with a clear path to VP of Sales & Marketing in 12–18 months based on performance. We’re building for the long term and expect this person to grow with us.

What You’ll Do

Drive New Business

  • Own new revenue generation — this is your primary mandate. Set meetings, qualify prospects, and bring buyers to the table.
  • Build ALTA’s outbound sales function from the ground up: strategy, pipeline, and process.
  • Be the proof of concept — demonstrate what great outbound looks like at ALTA so we can hire and train around your model.
  • Leverage social media selling (LinkedIn and beyond) to build pipeline, establish presence, and open doors.
  • Activate your network: bring well-established relationships in healthcare to generate early pipeline and win new logos fast.
Lead the Team & Oversee Key Accounts
  • Oversee all key accounts and directly supervise our Key Account Manager to ensure top clients receive exceptional strategic attention.
  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of sales and marketing professionals.
  • Manage ALTA’s relationship with its external marketing agency, holding them accountable to revenue goals and brand standards.
  • Guide the RFP process — strategy, Proposal Writer support, and ensuring responses are compelling and competitive.
  • Partner with leadership to align outbound efforts with company-wide priorities.

What We’re Looking For

Non-Negotiables

  • 5+ years of B2B sales experience with a proven track record of hitting and exceeding targets — especially in new business / new logo acquisition.
  • Well-connected in the healthcare space with relationships you can activate immediately: health systems, managed care, or adjacent verticals.
  • Demonstrated experience building an outbound sales function from scratch.
  • Comfort selling to C-suite executives and navigating complex, consultative sales cycles.
  • Strong Salesforce proficiency with emphasis on pipeline discipline and reporting.
  • Experience managing external agencies or vendors and holding them accountable to outcomes.
  • Proven experience leading and developing a sales or sales-and-marketing team.
  • Experience at companies in a similar revenue range ($10M–$50M) — large-enterprise backgrounds may find this environment a poor fit.
  • Bachelor’s degree required; relevant advanced degree a plus.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally (up to 15%)

Nice to Have

  • Active social selling practice — you use LinkedIn strategically, not just occasionally.
  • Working knowledge of SEO, PPC, and content marketing.
  • Familiarity with EOS (Entrepreneurial Operating System) — ALTA runs on EOS company-wide.

Compensation

Base Salary: $100,000 + up to 50% variable compensation based on performance
This rate reflects the full scope of the role: team management, inbound oversight, and strategic leadership.
Variable Compensation:
  • Quarterly Bonus based on overall team performance and inbound results.
  • Commission — tied to team-driven revenue performance.
  • MBOs (Management by Objectives) — structured around:
  • New revenue generation
  • New business / new logo acquisition
  • Client retention
  • Account growth
Current pay range for the position of Executive Director of Sales: from $73,289 to $111,000 per year. Actual pay depends on several factors, including but not limited to level of education, knowledge, skills, qualifications, certifications, previous experience in similar positions, market pay rates, comparable salaries, demographic factors, geographical location, jobs availability, budget availability, revenue etc.
