Role Purpose
Are you passionate about technology and eager to be part of an exciting venture? We are thrilled to announce a great opportunity to join our leadership team as Director of Technology Excellence and Performance.
Reporting to the ELL CTO you will be a key member of the leadership team and act as a strategist, advisor and decision-maker. You will act as an extension of the CTO to balance priorities, communicate effectively and maximize the effectiveness of the leadership team.
You will be instrumental in helping enable communication, collaboration, strategy and special projects execution across the ELL Tech Organization.
Your strong background in technology and your outstanding organizational skills, detail-orientation, and analytical mindset will be key for succeeding in driving the modernization of ELL Tech organization.
Key Accountabilities:
Be the trusted advisor and brainstorming partner of the CTO acting as a sounding board for new ideas and initiatives
Providing independent, informed, unbiased insight including on the ground feedback.
Be a change agent to consolidate processes and ways of working for optimized efficiency and productivity
Consolidate and maintain an operating model for ELL Tech including objectives and key results (OKRs) and critical metrics
Manage executive priorities and effectively triage escalations
Partner with finance on technology budget management, headcount management and forecasting
Champion people initiatives in partnership with HR
Develop and manage dashboards and analytics to monitor team performance indicators and help drive accountability and priorities
Support the CTO in running ELL Tech organization by overseeing Operations, Special Projects and communications
Manage operational staff meetings providing insights and analysis to inform strategic conversations. Document and communicate decisions and action items from meetings. Ensure follow-up and closure of action items to increase accountability.
Partner with the CTO leadership team to define, prepare and communicate the strategic backlog of technology plans, including quarterly, annual and 3-year strategy
Drive Privacy and Compliance across ELL, partnering with CISO and DPO.
Experience & Skills
Proven experience in business/executive management, engineering or similar role.
Passion for doing whatever it takes to solve complex problems
Proven ability to quickly learn new things and “can do” attitude
Track record of handling confidential information with the utmost sensitivity
Proven experience in project coordination and reporting
Ability to work independently and deliver results with little supervision
Excellent organization and time management skills; ability to prioritize tasks effectively
Proven track record of effectively interacting with senior stakeholders on cross-functional projects
Operational experience in a previous role
Track record in planning and driving execution and adoption of key strategic initiatives across large teams
Strong financial analysis and budget planning and management experience and skills
Passion for education and learning
Experience in working with multinational, multicultural and distributed teams
Executive-level presentation skills and experience.
Excellent communicator in English, written and verbal.
