Are you an experienced accounting professional with a passion for financial control and a keen eye for detail? Pearson is looking for an Associate General Accountant to join our dynamic team. In this role, you'll play a crucial part in ensuring our financial processes run smoothly and efficiently.

Please note: This is a 6-month full-time contract position.

Main responsibilities:

  • Process purchase invoices, prepare supplier payment runs and process all transactions in a timely manner and within set deadlines.

  • Supplier master data maintenance. High involvement in data cleaning and reconciliations for transition to new ERP.

  • Support in developing and preparing periodic financial reports.

  • Processing the administration in the general ledger.

  • Payroll accounting, minimum compensation legislation required.

  • Back-up regarding the accounts receivable administration and tax reporting.

  • Assists in ad-hoc tasks where required.

Requirements:

  • A degree in Finance, Accounting or similar.

  • Have relevant experience in a similar role.

  • Preferably experience in relevant taxes (eg VAT, Corporation Tax, Intrastat returns)

  • Strong knowledge of Dutch financial regulations, IFRS standards, and tax law. Preferably, also knowledge in Belgium regulations.

  • Good knowledge of the Microsoft Office package, and particularly Excel.

  • Good knowledge of Database systems; preferably experience with Oracle.

  • Fully fluent in English

  • Able to work both independently and in a team.

  • Positively critical, problem-solving and results oriented.

  • Time management to ensure that deadlines are met.

  • Bring enthusiasm, flexible attitude to easily switch between different activities.
